Telangana: Two Police Officers Suspended for Aiding Land Grabbers in Jangaon

Hyderabad: Circle inspector and sub-inspector of Narmetta mandal were suspended for ‘favouring’ land grabbers by registering illegal cases against the victims who approached the police to settle a land issue in the Jangaon district.

Commissioner of police A.V. Ranganath issued the suspension orders against CI Nagababu and SI Anil on Saturday.

When the victims, who had been in possession of the disputed land for the past 30 years, approached the Narmetta police, seeking protection for their land from land grabbers. However, instead of helping the victims, the CI and SI of the police station tried to favour the land grabbers by registering a false case against the victims.

After a complaint by the victims, the CP appointed a special team with DCP and ACP-level officials to probe into the matter. The inquiry found that the CI and SI helped the land grabbers and harassed the victims.
