Hyderabad: The Falaknuma police registered a case against a man for allegedly harassing and blackmailing a married woman whom he met through Facebook.
According to the police, the man identified as Basheer Khan, a resident of Bandlaguda, befriended the woman aged 20, on Facebook.
He convinced her to meet him at some place and later took her photographs by conning her. The woman stays with her children at Falaknuma area.
“The man proposed to marry the woman, but she rejected it. He got agitated and started harassing her. He also threatened to upload her photographs on social media platforms if she did not meet him,” said the police.
The woman tried to avoid him but the man continued to send messages on Facebook and threatened to kill her children and inform her husband about it.
The man also demanded money from the woman to stop harassing her.
Following the complain, the Falaknuma police registered a case against Section 354 D and 506 of IPC and an investigation is on.
