The ACB sleuths on Tuesday caught red-handed engineering assistant of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) office of Raikal mandal while she was accepting a bribe of '4,000 in cash from a farmer in Jagtial district.
Acting on a complaint by Kola Shankaraiah, the ACB officials laid a trap and caught the official, Deepika, while taking the bribe amount from the farmer for clearing bills pertaining to the compost pit which he constructed at his house in Raikal mandal
The officials are searching for technical assistant Vignesh, who was also involved in the case. The ACB officials urged people to report any corruption by officials by dialing toll-free number 1064.
