Cops Arrest 2 Maharashtra Natives Transporting 58.5 kg Ganja
HYDERABAD: The Balanagar special operations team and RC Puram police arrested Maharashtra natives Dheeraj Munnala Jaiswal, 23, and Prashanth Sanjay Shinde while they were transporting 58.5 kg ganja from Araku in Visakhapatnam to Maharashtra. Their vehicle (MH17 AJ 3679) bore a police sign and a duplicate number plate. The value of the ganja was put at ₹11.7 lakh.
Four Nabbed in Hyderabad for 22 Thefts
HYDERABAD: The Keesara police arrested four persons for 22 thefts and recovered ₹50 lakhs worth of property at their instance. The accused were identified as Ramakrishnan, a Tamil Nadu native, Kagh Govind, Mahender Pawar and Bachu Santhosh, all residents of Malkajgiri district. The recovery included 610 grams of gold jewellery and 2,479 grams of silver ornaments, a laptop and a camera, Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan said.
Hyderabad Cops Seize 2.5 kg Ganja, Arrest 4 Including Gang Leader
HYDERABAD: The Malkajgiri CCS wing and Kushaiguda police seized 2.5 kg ganja from four persons and arrested them at Chakripuram crossroads. The gang was led by Genigunta Yeshwanth Goud of Bachupally, a Class 10 dropout who took to theft when he was 17. He and his associates Vamshi (absconding) Bonukulla Suresh, Neyala Dhanunjay and Kota Yuvaraj were returning from Itchapuram in AP, where they had purchased the narcotic when they were arrested.
Cops Arrest 2 in Yadagirigutta, Seize Gelatin Sticks and Detonators
HYDERABAD: Yadagirigutta police arrested Dumpa Vinod during a vehicle check and seized six gelatin sticks and five detonators from him. Based on the information he provided, the police arrested Shivaratri Mahesh of Raigiri village of Bhongir district and seized 239 gelatin sticks and 666 detonators. They were booked under the Explosives Substance Act. Vinod had been involved in a similar case previously.
Quick Police Response Leads to Arrest of Chain Snatcher in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: The Pochampally police said they had arrested one Chidugula Naresh within six hours of his snatching a gold chain from an elderly woman, G. Lashmamma, in Jiblakpally, at about 2 pm on Thursday. Lakshmamma was walking to work when Naresh, on a motorcycle, snatched her gold chain and escaped. She immediately called the police who arrested Naresh at a bar at 7.30 pm.
