Visakhapatnam: The special judge for Pocso cases in Vizianagaram K. Nagamani on Monday convicted a 20-year-old to 20 years imprisonment on charges of raping a minor. The convicted youth was identified as Dharmana Prasad alias Rushi Kumar of Pedda Siddhi village of Pathapatnam mandal of Srikakulam.
The case was filed against him at One Town police station in Vizianagaram. Disha DSP Trinadha Rao investigated the case and filed the chargesheet in the court. The case was put on fast track. The prosecutor M.Y. Sankara Rao argued the case during the trial and the judge was convinced with the charges.
Vizianagaram superintendent of police M. Deepika Patil said the judge pronounced the decree convicting Prasad to 20 years imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 20,000.
