Hyderabad: Swift action of Special Operations Team LB Nagar along with Vanasthalipuram police led to the arrest of two chain-snatchers within two hours after they committed the crime.
Vanasthalipuram police at 8.10 pm on Tuesday received a complaint from Sunaina Anand, a sales executive of D-Mart, stating that as she was returning home from a vegetable market in Vanasthalipuram area, two bike-borne men snatched her gold chain and mobile and fled the scene.
Based on her complaint, the SOT, LB Nagar zone team swung into action and apprehended the duo and recovered gold chain and mobile phone from their possession within two hours. The accused were identified as Sharat Johnson, 31, and Chilumala Vijay Sai, 32, both natives of Jangaon district.
Apart from gold chain and mobile, police also seized the scooter used in the crime and two mobile phones from the accused and produced them before the court, Rachakonda police commissioner D.S. Chauhan said.
