Youth steals Rs 45 lakh from former employer after seeing his whatsapp status, caught

Hyderabad: Filmnagar police on Friday arrested Pedada Rama Krishna for stealing Rs 45 lakh from the Jubilee Hills flat of his former employer, a businessman, and recovered the stolen intact from him.

Police said that Krishna struck on November 6 after seeing the businessman’s WhatsApp status that he would be away on a vacation. Krishna used a key that he had obtained while working for the businessman, entered the flat and looted the cash.

He was aware of the flat layout and the position of CCTV cameras and had taken precautions to not get spotted, said Jubilee Hills station house officer M.G.S. Rama Krishna.

Police initially questioned all the employees but could not get a lead. While analysing CCTV camera images from the surrounding areas, they found a person moving suspiciously. On checking with the complainant, they identified the person in the camera as their a employee, leading to his arrest on Thursday.

Police said the money was part business proceeds, and had been deposited with the court.
