HYDERABAD: With Dr M. Vaishali Reddy’s family staging a protest on the Nagarjunasagar highway alleging the negligence of the cops, traffic came to a standstill. The family and relatives chanted slogans demanding the suspension of Adibatla station house officer P. Narender for negligence in taking action against the accused, K. Naveen Reddy.
“Even after repeated complaints, police are not taking any action against the man. The man has a huge business and is using his influence to evade arrests. This is not tolerable at all,” said a relation of Dr Vaishali.
Police said the protest caused a slowdown that stretched for about 8 kilometers. It took the police about an hour to clear the traffic.
Ibrahimpatnam ACP T.S. Uma Maheshwar Rao intervened and assured the family of action, following which they withdrew the protest.
