TD worker throws acid on woman
Visakhapatnam: The TD worker, said to be a close follower of former minister Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, allegedly attacked a married woman with acid in gontuvanipalem areas under Pendurthi police station. The accused is still at large. Though the incident took place on December 7, it came to light on Sunday.
The victim is Sirisha, a beautician by profession, and the accused, Narsinga Rao, is an autorickshaw driver in the same area.
Pendurthi inspector K. Srinivasa Rao said due to domestic issues, Sirisha had been living alone since her husband separated from her. Meanwhile, she developed a relationship with Narsinga Rao, who often visited her house.
The inspector said Sirisha sorted out her issues, and her husband returned her. She told Narsinga Rao to stop visiting her, as it would upset her husband. This enraged Narsinga Rao, who allegedly threw acid at her.
“She claimed that she was attacked with acid, but the preliminary investigation revealed that there were no burn injuries. However, we are waiting for the medical report from King George Hospital, after which we will investigate the case further,” the inspector said.
He said sources told him that she had consumed some harmful chemicals, which resulted in rashes on her face. The inspector said that after the arrest of the accused and obtaining the medical report, more details of the case would be known.
