Alluri Sitaramaraju district:Two Youths Surrender After Raping, Killing Minor

Visakhapatnam: Two youths raped a minor before killing her in Alluri Sitaramaraju district.

The duo surrendered to the police. Though the incident occurred on January 2, it came to light late.

One of the youths, Pangi Ramesh, 19, an auto driver, had raped her when she was alone in the house, as her parents, both farm labourers, went out for work.

He threatened her and took her into another house which some other children witnessed. The victim informed her kin about the physical assault on her. Fearing that his crime would get known in the entire village, Ramesh told his friend Seetanna, who is also an auto driver, about the issue and decided to kill her before her parents returned home from work.

First Ramesh went into the house and then Seetanna. Later, the duo again together molested the minor with the thought that they would anyway kill her. The duo then strangulated her to death and then hung her body to the roof and fled the place.

On returning home and finding their daughter dead, the parents cried inconsolably. Despite having some doubt, they performed the funeral.

On January 5, the parents lodged a complaint at Gudemkothaveedhi. CI Ashok Kumar, SI Appalasuri reached the village and investigated the case in all angles.

The body was exhumed and post mortem was held.

Fearing the worst, the duo surrendered to the village revenue officer.

A case has been registered against the accused under POCSO Act.
