IPL betting racket busted by Cyberabad Police, 10 bookies held
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police arrested a 10-member gang who were allegedly organising betting during the Indian Premier League match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers in Bengaluru on Monday.
Cyberabad police commissioner Stephen Ravindra said police seized Rs 60.39 lakh cash, Rs 5,89 lakh bank deposits, devices used for betting, electronic gadgets, televisions and five vehicles, all worth around Rs 1 crore.
He said the Balanagar special operations team and Bachupally police raided a house at Sai Anurag colony, Bachupally, on receiving specific information and caught them red-handed. The main accused, Pandu of Vijayawada, is absconding.
