Viveka case: HC adjourns on Dastagiri

HYDERABAD: Justice K. Surender of the Telangana High Court on Monday heard petitions challenging the Kadapa sessions court order issuing a pardon to Shaik Dastagiri, accused in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case, allowing him to approver and granting him anticipatory bail.

Vivekananda Reddy’s personal assistant M.V. Krishna Reddy and Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, father of Y.S. Avinash Reddy, Kadapa MP, filed separate petitions.

Krishna Reddy alleged that the CBI was trying to protect Dastagiri as well as the wife and daughter of Vivekananda Reddy.

Senior counsel Desai Prakash Reddy said witness statements had shown that Dastagiri was involved in the murder. Prakash Reddy said the CBI and the victim’s family were not opposing the pardon of Dastagiri.

Senior counsel T. Niranjan Reddy representing Bhaskar Reddy will argue on Tuesday. Implead petitions filed by Dr Suneetha Reddy, daughter of Vivekananda Reddy, in both petitions were allowed by the High Court. Senior counsel L. Ravichander will argue on her behalf.
