KADAPA: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has responded to the injustice done to a minority family in his home district. He gathered details about the case from Kadapa Superintendent of Police Karur Karunapati Nagendra Kumar Anburajan.
Reddy directed the collector and the SP to resolve the issue within a week. He asked officials to conduct an inquiry into the allegations against Mydukur rural police inspector and take action within a week. He gave a similar deadline to the collector to inquire into the land under dispute.
Akbar Basha, a resident of Chagalamarri in Kurnool district, announced that his family would commit suicide as they could not bear the harassment of a police officer, who was involved in a land dispute. The victim alleged that Mydukur Rural CI Kondareddy was doing injustice to the complaint lodged in 'Spandana' regarding his land in Duvvur mandal Yerrabelli Panchayat Machanapalli.
He announced at 11pm on Friday night that his family would commit suicide if justice was not done to him. The announcement, which went viral, was noticed by the staff at the Social Media Monitoring Cell of the Special Branch of the police. They immediately brought to the notice of Anburajan, who directed the Duvvur SI KC Raju to go to the victim’s house immediately.
Accompanied by staff from Chagalamarri police station, the SI reached the house of Akbar Basha, a resident of Chagalamarri. Akbar and his family withdrew their threat after being reassured of justice by Anburajan after a personal interaction on Saturday.
Anburajan said that Additional SP (Operations) Deva Prasad has been appointed as the investigating officer in the probe against the Mydukur rural inspector. The SP said Mydukur Rural CI was being suspended till the completion of the probe. The SP explained that further action would be taken based on the findings of the inquiry.
Earlier, Kadapa mayor and YSRC leader Kottamaddi Suresh Babu told the media that all those who did wrong, irrespective of their position, should be punished.
DLSA settles 1104 cases
Meanwhile, the District Legal Services Authority settled 1104 cases across the district in the National Lok Adalat on Saturday. Kadapa district court judge C. Purushottam Kumar conducted the National Lok Adalat across the district. Over 1104 cases were resolved in 25 special benches.
