3 Burqa-clad persons decamp with gold, cash
HYDERABAD: Three burqa-clad persons looted a locked house in the Mirchowk area, police said on Sunday. The suspects broke open the door and decamped with nine tolas of gold when the residents were away.
When the family returned home at night, they found the doors broken and the gold looted. Analysis of CCTV camera footage in the vicinity showed three burqa-clad persons entering the house on Saturday evening.
Police suspect that the gang knew that the residents would be away, and struck at the house.
30 arrested during raid on illegal bar
HYDERABAD: West zone task force sleuths raided a bar and pub that was running illegally at SR Nagar and caught 30 persons including the pub staff, women and customers. Police said the women were found performing “obscene dances” and indulging in “obscene acts” with the customers.
The pub was supplying liquor to the customers without having permission from the excise department. The pub also played DJ music at high volume beyond the permissible limit, disturbing the residents, said task force DCP P. Radha Kishan Rao. Those arrested included H. Krishna Rao, pub owner, event organiser Omer Bin Abdullah, cashier B. Siddartha and DJ, K. Krishna.
5 autorickshaw lifters arrested
HYDERABAD: The north zone CCS nabbed five persons for stealing autorickshaws and recovered three vehicles worth '9 lakh. The accused were identified as Shaik Rahmath, Md. Asif, Mohd Dastagir, Mohd Osamuddin and Md. Aman. They used to drive way the vehicles when the drivers were not around and sell them on the outskirts. Dastagir and Osamuddin have been arrested previously for theft, police said.
19-year-old gets electrocuted
HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old, Syed Ayaan, who was trying to switch on a welding machine at his home suffered an electric shock and died at about 9.30 pm on Saturday. Chandrayangutta inspector Katravath Gurunath said his mother found Ayaan lying unconscious on the floor and took him to a nearby private hospital where he was declared brought dead.
