ANANTAPUR: The VIIth Additional District and Sessions Court in Kurnool has sentenced a father to 20 years in jail on a charge he molested his daughter.
Sources said a minor girl was studying senior Intermediate at a private junior college in Nandyal town. The father who went to college and took the girl away by saying a family member was in critical condition.
He took her on his motorcycle on November 12, 2019. After reaching home, while his wife was away, he closed the doors and forced his daughter to have sex with him. He slapped her when she refused.
Shockingly, the victim later complained of severe stomach pain and the father shifted her to a private nursing home. The girl was discharged after treatment.
Shocked over the incident, her mother approached the police on November 29, 2019, and lodged a complaint against her husband. Police registered a case and arrested him.
On Friday, additional district and sessions court judge and FAC special judge Bhupal Reddy, under Section POCSO Act, pronounced the verdict. He also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on the father.
