Revanth Asks Officials to Check Drug Menace in TS
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday directed officials to take tough measures to root out narcotic drugs menace in the state. The CM directed officials to initiate stringent action against those involved in consumption and sale of narcotic drugs.
Revanth Reddy was speaking at a review meeting with officials at the Secretariat on controlling narcotics drugs. Excise minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, DGP Ravi Gupta, Intelligence additional DG B. Shivadhar Reddy, CMO secretary V. Sheshadri and senior officials of the police and excise wings and the Drug Control Authority were present.
Revanth Reddy said that the state government would strengthen the TS Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TS-NAB) by appointing a full- time director and the required staff. The CM issued instructions to officials to provide adequate financial and human resources to the bureau.
The Chief Minister asked officials to lay special focus on measures to control consumption and sale of narcotic drugs.
Revanth Reddy asked officials to strengthen the TS-NAB on par with the anti-teror Greyhounds and Octopus wings to achieve his aim of making Telangana a narcotic drug-free state.
