School teacher killed by speeding truck

HYDERABAD: A 44-year-old school teacher, who was pillion-riding to ESI hospital to give a tiffin box to her mother, was killed after she was hit by a truck Sunday afternoon.

The accident occurred near Moosapet metro station pillar number- 878, when the victim Delima Larry was pillion riding a Rapido (AP 2CJ 2387). A speeding Ashok Leland truck (TS 36 t 5319) hit her from the rear side.

The victim’s head was completely crushed as she was run over by the truck, Kukatpally police said. Around 12.20 pm when the victim's husband called on her mobile, a police officer picked up the call and informed him about the tragedy.

Delima started from her house in Asbestos Colony, Jagathgirigutta to deliver lunch to her mother, who is undergoing treatment in ESI hospital Erragadda, police said.

Police registered a case of death due to rash and negligent driving under section 304 A against the driver and took him into custody. The victim’s body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem.
