APCID rescues 326 child labourers
VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department rescued 326 children as part of its Operation Svechha under Phase II and of them, 45 children were sent to child care homes. At the same time, 281 were reunited with their parents in the state.
The AP CID is observing World Day Against Child Labour on Monday and its additional director general of Police Sanjay unveiled a poster against child labour.
Speaking on the occasion, the additional DG said that they were taking up operation Svechah phase-II from June 1 to 30 in coordination with local police and all stakeholder departments in the state and added that so far, they rescued 326 children of which 289 were boys and 37 were girls and 45 children were sent to child care homes in the state.
He said that a special control room was set up for operation Svechha Phase-II led by CID SP for women protection cell K.G.V. Saritha to help track the rescued children to ensure they were handed over to their parents or place them in the care home homes in compliance with the norms.
