WARANGAL: A couple clicked a selfie before attempting suicide in the Jangaon district. The selfie video shot by the couple while attempting suicide by consuming pesticide was posted on social media and went viral.
In the video, the couple identified as Bhukya Guru and Sunitha, residents of Surya Thanda of Narmetta mandal alleged that some middlemen encroached on the 1.09 guntas of land inherited by Sunitha from her parents.
But the middlemen Bhukya Jayaram, Bhukya Surendar and Bhukya Srinu, claimed that they own the land. They also cleared the land and built a fence around the plot.
The couple took the matter with police officials and lodged a complaint with the police station.
But, when they did not get a proper response from the police officials, they decided to take the extreme step. After mentioning the names of the persons who grabbed their land in their suicide note, the couple consumed pesticide,
Local residents who noticed the video, shifted the couple to the government hospital immediately where they are undergoing treatment.
Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
