HYDERABAD: Around 240 persons were caught by city SHE teams during Ganesh immersion for stalking, misbehaving with women devotees and secretly taking their pictures along the route. “It is not easy to escape from the eyes of SHE teams no matter where and how big or small the crowd is,” said A.R. Srinivas, joint commissioner, SHE team in-charge, (CCS&SIT), here on Monday.
Srinivas cautioned people against sexually abusing women in public places. The indecent acts would be captured on hidden cameras, he said. Such videos are admissible in court and lead to conviction, he said citing precedents. Most of the abusers were caught red-handed by members of SHE teams dressed in mufti.
They were produced before the Nampally court, which sentenced them to imprisonment ranging from two to 10 days besides imposing a fine of Rs 250 on each of them.
