Hyderabad: Three students involved in three cases of spanking women techies have been apprehended by the Madhapur police.
The accused students were found to be using rental bikes to commit the offence, the police said.
On November 9, at about 2 am, a female assistant director living was harassed by the youngsters.
The 23-year-old woman, who was standing on the main road at Ayyappa Society, was shocked when she felt a hard hit on her hip.
After coming back to her senses, she realised that the youngsters tripling on a two-wheeler had hit her on her waist and fled. The woman lodged a complained with the Madhapur police.
During investigation, the police have identified the trio based on the vehicle they have used and took them into custody on Monday. The suspects are said to have committed similar offences twice before and have been caught for the first time.
“The three suspects have been identified as students. They used rental bikes to commit the offence. They confessed to having spanked women in the IT corridor area twice earlier.
Further questioning is on and they will be placed under arrest and produced in the court,” said a police official from Madhapur, confirming the reports.
In August, two similar incidents have taken place in the city, one behind Raheja Mind Space IT Park and another at Rajendranagar area.
It may be recalled that a BPO employee was arrested by the Gachibowli police for spanking women techies while on their way to work during the early hours of the day.
