Kadapa: Volunteer stabbed to death in Kadapa after dispute over extramarital affair

Anantapur: Bhavani Shankar, 37, a volunteer who was also working at the digitalisation wing in LIC in Kadapa, was stabbed to death by his close friend, in the LIC office premises in broad daylight on Sunday.

Police said Bhavani Shankar was working as a volunteer in 14th division and doing part- time job in the digitalisation wing at the LIC office in Kadapa. He had a friendship with Mallikarjuna, who was also working in the same division.

The two had a dispute over an extra marital affair a few days ago. Mallikarjuna hatched a plan to eliminate Bhavani Shankar. He invited him to the office to attend to some pending work in the LIC office on Sunday morning. When Bhavani Shankar went to the office premises, Mallikarjuna fatally stabbed him with a knife. Mallikarjuna fled from the spot.

Kadapa DSP Sharif and his team rushed to the spot and registered a case against Mallikarjuna following information based on a complaint by the family members. The body was shifted to RIMS hospital for post mortem. Police launched a hunt for Mallikarjuna.
