Hyderabad: The Khairatad police on Wednesday arrested a habitual offender involved in five automobile thefts.
According to detective inspector, Khairatabad police, A. Madhusudhan the accused was spotted moving suspiciously in an autorickshaw in the early hours. When the police patrol party asked him to produce relevant documents of the vehicle, he failed. The police took him into custody.
Accused Nalugurollu Sai Kumar (25), alias Sai, a resident of MS Maqtha, during interrogation confessed to stealing vehicles in Panjagutta and Khairatabad police station limits. The police recovered two stolen autorickshaws and three two-wheelers.
Sai used to steal vehicles from the parking lots, especially in residential colonies. He then sold the stolen vehicle at a good price, Madhusudhan said.
The accused was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
