Parliament security breach: Parents unaware of son's intentions but suspect brainwash
BENGALURU: Manorajan (35) a resident of Vijayanagar in Mysuru City nabbed in connection with hurling gas emitting objects inside Parliament house in New Delhi on Wednesday is an engineering graduate and a staunch follower of Swami Vivekananda.
Hailing from a farming family, Manoranjan had left home about four-days back and had told his father Devaraj to make a phone call on reaching Bengaluru City. He often visited Delhi, Maharashtra and Bengaluru City but never shared his tour details with his family members nor revealed his friends.
“We are unaware of his intentions. Do not know what happened to him to indulge in such an act,” said his father to reporters and he suspected that his son might have had something good for the society. Devaraj also doubted that his son might have been brainwashed by somebody to indulge in such an act to cause disruptions inside the Parliament house.
While condemning his son’s act, Devaraj said his son never associated with any political parties or with associations but had the mindset to do good for the society.
After completion of engineering course in 2014, Manoranjan helped his father Devaraj in farm maintenance located at Periyapatna taluk about 65 –km from Mysuru City and wished to lead a simple life. He used an old two-wheeler, ordinary footwear and never liked to wear gold accessories.
He refused to marry. After his completion of engineering course, he worked for a couple of companies but did not wish to take orders from higher-ups before he quit and engaged in farm maintenance.
Devaraj termed his son “gold” who never had any intentions to hurt the sentiments of people. He said his son read books on Swami Vivekananda and had the mindset to do good for the poor and the farmers and visited functions to honour Swami Vivekananda. But, unaware of his intentions.
“We asked him to stay away from engaging in social reform works but he never listened,” said his father.
