Anantapur: A panchayat secretary died when she switched on the motor of the water pump at her house in Kotha Ipparlapalle within Kambadur mandal of Anantapur district on Sunday.
Prasanthi, 28, was the panchayat secretary of Obuganipalle Sachivalayam-2 in Thimmapuram panchayat of Kambadur mandal.
On Sunday morning, she noticed that the water sump in her house had got empty. However, when she switched on the motor, she suffered electric shock and fell down on the sump, made of cement concrete. She suffered a serious injury on her head and slipped into coma.
Family members tried to immediately shifted her to the hospital in Kalyandurg. But she died on the way to the hospital.
Prasanthi had done her B.Sc.(Computers). She got her posting as gram panchayat secretary. She had been working at Obuganipalle-2 sachivalayam for the past two years.
Kambadur police have registered a case based on a complaint filed by her father Aswartha Narayana. Her body has been shifted for post-mortem to Kalyandurg Government Hospital.
