ADILABAD: A 27-year-old tribal woman employee staged a dharna in front of the General Manager's office of SCCL in Golletti township on Wednesday, seeking action against a senior officer Sambashiva Rao,54, who allegedly attempted to rape her.
The alleged incident took place on Tuesday at Golleti sports store in Bellampalli SCCL area where she was working on Tuesday.
The woman alleged that the senior officer in her department pounced on her when she was alone in the store and sought to fulfill his sexual desire.
“Sambashiva Rao beat me up as I did not cooperate with him in his attempt to rape me on July 11,” she stated in a complaint.
She said other labourers working in the premises rushed to her rescue after they heard her screams for help.
Allegations were also that the SCCL officials are trying to save the accused by just transferring him to a distant place. Tribal organisations sought the removal of the accused from service so that such incidents will not recur.
