ACB sleuths trap VRO in Nandyal
Kurnool: The Nandyala Anti-Corruption Bureau booked a case against a Village Revenue Officer from Jalakanuru in Midtur mandal on Wednesday as he took a bribe of Rs.10,000.
Police said Venkata Ramanaiah of Jalakanuru had registered his land as a donation in the names of his three daughters. However, to change the ownership of the land from his name to his daughters' names and for the issuing of new passbooks online, the VRO Venkata Ramana Reddy demanded a bribe of '10,000 from the complainant.
The ACB officials arrested him while he was accepting the bribe. The operation involved ACB inspectors Tejeshwar Rao, Venkata Krishnareddy, Imtiaz Ahmed, Krishnaiah, Vamsinath and others. They took him into custody and started a detailed investigation, police said.
