Inter-state burglar gang busted, four arrested in Hanamkonda
WARANGAL: The sleuths of the Warangal commissionerate busted an inter-state burglary gang and arrested four members of it in Hanamkonda on Wednesday. The police also seized 2.38 kg gold, 14 ganja packets worth Rs 5.2 lakh, one pistol, a car, four mobile phones, four fake Aadhar cards and Rs 5,000 cash from their possession.
According to police, the accused were identified as Akbar Kureshi, 34, Kapil Jatao, 30, Mohammad Sharief, 56, and Md. Jhad Khan, 25, of Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons, police commissioner A.V. Ranganath said that after receiving the complaints from the victims that a series of thefts occurred in several houses targeting various apartments under Warangal police commissionerate limits, special teams were deployed.
In part of their investigation, the police officials found that the same kind of incidents took place in Adilabad and Bengaluru. Through the CCTV footage, the police found the details of the car which was used by burglars. During search operations at Telangana Chowk in Hanamkonda, they found the car which was used by the burglar gang and nabbed four members of the gang.
The gang was involved in more than 46 theft cases of which 10 cases were registered in both Telugu-speaking states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
