Two More Arrested in Currency Exchange Fraud
Kurnool: Nandyal police on Sunday arrested two more accused in a currency exchange cheating case in Visakhapatnam. The police seized Rs 30 lakh in cash and a car from Amit Reddy from Srikakulam and Loknath.
The accused, according to the police, collected Rs 2.20 crore in total from one Srinivasa Reddy of Nenepally of Nandyal on July 20 at Rythunagaram, after promising him to exchange the cash in 2000 notes with 500 denominations with 15 per cent commission.
The police had already arrested Tankala Sobhan Babu and Kancharana Chinna Babu, who had priors, and recovered Rs 70 lakh in cash from them. A search was underway to nab three more suspects in the case.
The case was initiated following a complaint from the victim Srinivasa Reddy.
