HYDERABAD: Judge T. Anitha, the XII Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge-cum- Special Court for Pocso Cases on Friday sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment, a 58-year-old man who had raped his teenaged relative multiple times in Bhavaninagar in the city.
The court directed the accused to pay a fine of Rs 5,000 and also awarded compensation of Rs 4 lakh to the victim.
The victim’s financially impoverished parents had admitted the teen to the school where the convict worked. He took advantage of this, took her home and assaulted her.
The victim bore the assault for a while but later confided in her teachers and the headmaster who informed the parents and helped them lodged a police complaint, said additional public prosecutor K. Prathap Reddy.
