KARIMNAGAR: A resident of Indurthi village is alleged to have stabbed his 30-year-old wife to death with a knife over suspicions of her having an extramarital affair, in Chigurmamidi mandal of Karimnagar district on Monday.
The police said the suspect, Kanakam Praveen, who worked as a daily wager, and his wife, Shirisha, who worked as a helper at the anganwadi centre, quarrelled often over the issue in days preceding the incident.
On Monday, Shirisha was working at the anganwadi centre following the flag hoisting, when Praveen dragged her out and stabbed her in public view. He then surrendered to the police.
The Thimmapur police registered a case and shifted the body to a hospital for an autopsy.
