HYDERABAD: The IX Additional District Judge cum special judge for Pocso cases at LB Nagar on Thursday sentenced a 24-year-old car driver, Erra Shiva of Nacharam to five years of rigorous imprisonment for forcing a minor to have physical intercourse with him, in 2019. The court also convicted him to pay a fine of Rs20,000. The court ordered that the victim be paid a compensation of Rs1 lakh, the Rachakonda police said.
2 held with opium, poppy husk in Vanasthalipuram
HYDERABAD: The LB Nagar special operations team (SOT) and Vanasthalipuram police arrested two persons, Chaina Ram alias Chenna Ram and Rana Ram, and seized seven kilograms of poppy straw and 70 grams of opium from them at Vanasthalipuram. Police said Chenna Ram was working as a carpenter. He had purchased the narcotics from one Pur Singh.
Blackmailer extorts Rs 1.53 lakh from woman, threatens to share nude videos
HYDERABAD: An unidentified person extorted a young woman of Rs1.53 lakh by threatening to post obscene videos on social media. The victim approached the cyber crime cell on Thursday. She said she contacted the accused on Facebook a few months back. They developed intimacy and the accused recorded her nude video and started blackmailing her, police said.
