HYDERABAD: A six-month-old boy was kidnapped from Niloufer hospital in the city late on Thursday. Police suspect a woman, who befriended the child’s mother at the hospital, of having kidnapped the toddler.
SHO Nampally B. Abhilash said that they have registered a kidnap case and have deputed five teams to trace the child and also nab the woman.
Police said Fareeda Begum from Gandipet had come to the hospital for the treatment of another child.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, the suspect approached Fareeda Begum and started a conversation saying that her two-month-old son was under treatment at the hospital for an eye-related issue.
She took Fareeda’s son from her in the presence of Fareeda’s relatives, who were at the hospital. However, neither the child nor the woman returned. After frantic search and not finding them anywhere, they complained to the police, who later said that they had started working on some clues they had found.
