TS security board officials nab entrepreneur-turned-cyber fraudster
Hyderabad: One of the 19 cyber criminals arrested by Telangana State Cyberabad Security Bureau (TSCSB) during a nationwide crackdown on cybercriminals involved in business investment frauds, was an entrepreneur before becoming a cyber fraudster. Providing employment to youngsters at his software firm in Ahmedabad, Hitesh Bulde shut shop after going bankrupt and turned to cybercrimes and made it big.
While TSCSB detected 143 cases in Telangana that caused a loss of around Rs 30 crore, Hitesh was involved in more than 130 cases across the country, including around 50 cases in Telangana.
He, along with four of his associates operating from Ahmedabad, were arrested by the TSCSB and brought to Telangana. They were working in small positions. They were all eager to earn a fast buck and started working for bigger gangs on a commission basis,investigations revealed.
After working on these fraudsters for around two months, teams were deputed to nab them. But when a team arrived in Ahmedabad to nab Hitesh and his associates, they found that the gang had just moved to Mumbai. The team travelled to Mumbai and caught them unawares.
During the two week long operation, 14 teams from Cyberabad, Hyderabad, Rachakonda, Karimnagar, Warangal, Siddipet commissionerates and Jagityal district were simultaneously deployed to Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Delhi, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Kerala, UP and all over Telangana.
