Police launch operation to rescue kidnapped BJP leader Tirupati Reddy

Hyderabad: Multiple teams of the Cyberabad police launched operations to rescue BJP leader M. Tirupathi Reddy who was allegedly kidnapped by BRS cadres near Alwal tahsildar office on Thursday but could not trace him.

While prime facie the probe did not lead to any clues indicating that he was kidnapped, cops found that he has reached Suryapet by road by late Friday.

After going missing near the Tahsildar office on Thursday noon, Reddy, the investigators said, took an autorickshaw and travelled till Ghatkesar. He took lift from multiple vehicles and travelled till LB Nagar, from where he first travelled to Narketpally in Nalgonda district and then to Suryapet.

At this moment, the kidnap theory is completely ruled out as all clues indicate that he was travelling on his own and also not accompanied by anyone. “ But why he had gone missing remains a mystery, as his family is also clueless. Only after we trace him, will we be able to know the exact details,” said a senior official.

After he went missing, Reddy’s family accused Malkajgiri MLA Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao of conspiring for the kidnap over an issue on a prime land owned by Reddy. Rao however rubbished the allegations and said he would proceed legally against Reddy and his family.
