KAKINADA: Four-year-old kid Palivela Dhanya Sri of Lovakothuru village in Tuni Rural mandal of Kakinada district got accidentally shot dead with a country-made gun on Sunday.
According to Tuni Rural police, Anantrapu Surya Chandra rears pigs and resides in the house adjacent to that of Dhanya Sri. One of his pigs had not been returning to the pigsty for past four days. He also could not catch it physically.
Another pig rearer Vyrala Badri advised Surya Chandra to shoot the pig dead. They hired a country-made gun owner D. Durga Babu for the purpose. The three were waiting under a tree to shoot the pig.
When Dhanya Sri had come out of her house and playing around, Durga Babu shot her, mistaking her for a pig. She died on the spot.
Tuni Rural sub-inspector V. Vijaya Babu has registered a case. All the three, Surya Chandra, Badri and Durga Babu, are absconding.
