Hyderabad: The commission, constituted by the Supreme Court to probe the alleged encounter of the four accused in the 2019 Disha rape and murder case, considered the opinion that advocates appearing for the state of Telangana, the Section 8-B notices and other parties who have been permitted to file written submissions, should file it on or before November 23.
The parties might file written submissions on the subject matter of inquiry as that they deemed appropriate and relevant, said the commission, adding that the advocates were also directed to provide a copy of all judgments and reported decisions that they would be placing reliance on.
The advocates shall commence their oral arguments on November 16 and after perusing the documents, evidence and depositions, the commission is of the opinion that the submissions must, inter alia, address the aspects including the identification and arrest of the accused namely, Mohd. Arif, Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen and Chintakunta Chennakeshavalu in the police investigation and the alleged illegalities in the arrest of the accused as claimed by the relatives of the deceased.
The commission also asked them to address the alleged juvenile nature of Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen and Chintakunta Chennakeshavalu as claimed by the relatives of the deceased, the recording of arrest, notices to relatives and confessional statements allegedly given by the accused on November 29, 2019, remand to judicial custody on November 30, 2019 and procedure followed thereafter.
