MADURAI: In a gruesome incident, a ten-member gang hacked a 22-year-old man involved in a murder case to death inside a state transport bus near Vadipatti in Madurai district on Friday afternoon. Police said the deceased Amar, alias Amarash from Karimedu, who sustained ten cut injuries, died on the spot. Around 30 passengers who were helpless witness to the incident, could not raise an alarm as the gang members threatened them with dire consequences, police said, adding, the shocked passengers quietly moved away from the place after the assailants fled the spot. Amarash, bound for Madurai, had boarded the bus at Batalagundu town and seated close to the driver’s seat. When the bus reached near Vadipatti, a gang that came in a car and two motorbikes intercepted the vehicle, said the police. As the driver stopped the bus, the gang entered it and killed Amarash instantly, police said, adding, the killers abandoned the car near Achampattu village.
