Hyderabad court hands down a 20-year sentence and Rs 10 lakh compensation in a Pocso Act case of kidnapping and rape.

Hyderabad: Judge M.K. Padmavathi of the Special Court for Pocso Act cases at LB Nagar sentenced 27-year-old Pandula Nagaraju to rigorous imprisonment for 20 years and a fine of Rs 30,000 in a case of kidnapping a minor and raping her.
The court also awarded Rs 10 lakh compensation to the survivor in the case reported to the Saroornagar police in 2019.
During the investigation, police submitted statements of the survivor, witnesses and circumstantial witnesses in the court, along with medical and forensic reports. Rachakonda police commissioner G. Sudheer Babu appreciated the investigating team and the court duty officers and felicitated them for securing the conviction.
