Social Media Star Arrested for Alleged Cheating, Sexual Assault, and Dowry Harassment

Hyderabad: The Narsingi police on Friday arrested Kola Chandrashekar Saikiran, a social media star, on charges of cheating a woman under the promise of marriage and sexually assaulting her since 2021.

The accused met the woman, in her mid 30, through a social media platform, police said. Later he proposed to her and she moved in with him at his at Puppalaguda, Narsingi police said.

He sexually assaulted her on several occasions, police said. Meanwhile, Saikiran's family moved into the flat. As she belonged to SC community, they allegedly started harassing her and demanded '3 crore dowry for marriage.

They also forced her out of the house, police said. She moved into a private hostel, but Saikiran continued to claim that he would marry her. Of late, he began avoiding her. As there was no progress, the victim approached police.
