Desperate Attempt to Evade Capture Leads Thief to Isolated Rock Amidst Sewage-Filled Lake
Police surround the rocky refuge of a suspected thief who swam into a sewage-laden lake to escape capture
Hyderabad: A suspect in a theft case was stranded on a small rock in a lake as he attempted to avoid his pursuers, Suraram police said on Friday. Even as darkness fell, police were in the process of apprehending him. Police have deployed a team at the lake to keep a watch on the suspect.
According to Suraram police, around 5.30pm, the suspect who is yet to be identified, broke into a locked house at Shivalayamnagar. Locals noticed this, surrounded the house and raised an alarm.
To escape, the suspected jumped from the rear compound wall to escape. As locals chased him, he swam into the local lake which is filled with sewage and water hyacinth and reached the rock in the middle of the lake.
