Man bludgeons father-in-law to death over land row in Nalgonda
HYDERABAD: A 55-year-old farmer was bludgeoned to death by his son-in-law during a property dispute at Polkampalli of Pedda Adiserlapalli in Nalgonda district on Sunday.
After the assault, the son-in-law fled the spot. The deceased was identified as M. Maraiah, a resident of Polkampalli.
According to police, Maraiah promised to distribute his land to his son-in-law and he himself cultivated the land for the past few years. Recently, Narayana demanded his share and asked him to distribute the land and called for a meeting with village elders. In the meeting, Maraiah asked for some time to distribute the property.
Meanwhile, Narayana went to the farm field where Maraiah was working on Sunday and had an argument. During the altercation, Narayana in a fit of rage attacked Maraiah with a boulder. Maraiah suffered a severe head injury and died on the spot, the police said.
Locals noticed Maraiah lying in a pool of blood and informed his family members who alerted the police.
Cops launched a manhunt to nab him. A case was registered under section 302 (Murder) of the IPC against Narayana.
