Bike, car racing in Ananthagiri Hills: Youth booked
Hyderabad: The Vikarabad police have registered cases against youngsters for indulging in illegal bike and car drag races in Ananthagiri Hills by violating the Motor Vehicles Act and creating panic among visitors. Videos of stunts surfaced on social media sites on Wednesday following which police swung into action.
Police said they noticed some youngsters at Ananthagiri Viewpoint on Tuesday and organised races. Based on the footage, they collected the registration number of vehicles and found that the miscreants are from Hyderabad. Police said that no permission was taken for the races.
The Vikarabad police registered cases and asked transport department officials to find details of vehicle owners. Similarly, the forest department officials visited the spot on Wednesday and inquired about the incident. Forest department officials Gnaneswar and vigilance officer Raja Ramana Reddy said that some organisers formed a group in which youngsters were members.
“The youngsters came to Ananthagiri Hills on Tuesday and offered prayers at Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple. Later, the youngsters indulged in car and bike racings. We will also inquire into the issue by collecting details of the miscreants. We will prepare a report and submit it to police for action,” the Forest department officials said.
