Hyderabad: The 29-year-old supervisor of Azaan International School, who was officially arrested on Saturday for allegedly raping a four-year-old student, was looking after the primary section and his daily duties included opening gates, filling water and housekeeping.
Speaking to this newspaper, West Zone DCP A.R. Srinivas said that according to the statements of the parents and medical evidence, it was confirmed that the minor girl was sexually assaulted by Mohd Jeelani in the school premises on Friday morning between 8.30 am and 12.30 pm.
“The girl told her mother that Jeelani gave her a chocolate and took her into a bathroom on the first floor where he removed her clothes and sexually assaulted her. After the girl told her parents about the incident, they took her to Jaya Bhushan Hospital in Mehdipatnam. The doctor examined the girl and advised to shift her to Niloufer Hospital for better treatment,” Mr Srinivas said.
The girl had to undergo a surgery and is still under treatment at the hospital.
The Clues Team of Hyderabad city police has examined the crime spot. The police also questioned the girl's parents, the school’s headmaster, her class teacher and other staff and recorded their statements.
Based on a complaint filed by the parents, R. Kotesh, sub inspector of Golconda Police station, registered a case under section 376 2(i) (public servant taking advantage of his official position and rapes a woman in his custody) of IPC and relevant sections of PoCSO (Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences) Act of 2012.
