Visakhapatnam Police crack down on illegal activities
Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam police officials, led by assistant commissioner of police Trinath Rao, have successfully cracked down on two separate illegal activities in the city. In a preemptive strike, the task force personnel raided an illegal poker den in Tathitur Kallalu under the Bheemili Police Station jurisdiction. Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended nine individuals who were engaged in gambling.
The raid resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of cash (Rs. 91,400), nine cellphones, and a deck of playing cards. The accused have been handed over to the SHO Bheemili Police Station for further legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is ongoing.
On the same day, based on another tip-off, the task force police station personnel raided a suspected ganja smuggling operation near DLO Junction under the Fourth Town Police Station jurisdiction. Two individuals were apprehended, and a staggering 14 kilograms of ganja along with two cell phones were confiscated.
The arrested individuals have been handed over to the SHO Fourth Town Police Station for necessary legal action. The investigation into this case is also ongoing.
