Hyderabad: A 33-year-old accountant at NBK Creations was arrested by the Jubilee Hills police for forging the signature of actor and TD MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna’s wife Vasundhara.
According to the police, the accused, Korri Shiva Kumar, forged the signature of Ms Vasundhara and applied for mobile banking with the HDFC Bank branch at Jubilee Hills Road No. 2. The matter came to light when bank officials called Ms Vasundhara for verification on February 13.
Surprised, she asked NBK Creations accounts manager V. Subba Rao to inquire with the bank. During the internal enquiry, it was found that Shiva Kumar had forged the signature.
Jubilee Hills police investigated the case and arrested him on Monday.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Jubilee Hills inspector K. Sattaiah said Shiva Kumar joined NBK Creations six months ago. As he had to frequently visit the bank, he thought of using internet banking and applied. He did so without the knowledge of the account holder. In addition to that, he forged the signature of the account holder, which is a crime.”
Based on a complainant from Mr Subba Rao, the police booked Shiva Kumar for cheating, forgery, using forged documents.
