Nellore: In a ghastly road accident, three people were charred to death after their car caught fire following a head-on collision with a container lorry at Mittameedapalle crossroad in Markapuram rural police station limits at Prakasam district on Tuesday.
The collision took place when the car was going towards Markapuram from Cubum and the container lorry coming in the opposite direction.
The car caught fire because of the sparks generated when the lorry dragged the vehicle for a distance. Three occupants of the car were burnt alive in the incident and the bodies are beyond recognition, Markapur Circle Inspector I. Anjaneya Reddy said.
He said that they are trying to trace the whereabouts of the deceased with the help of the car number.
