Hyderabad: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) said it had registered cases against some members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) for allegedly providing terrorist training to youth on the pretext of teaching them karate.
A Union home ministry official, who verified the case details, directed the NIA to register cases and investigate the issue to prevent illegal activities of PFI in TS, sources said. Based on the Centre’s directions, the NIA registered cases.
Earlier, the Nizamabad police had arrested three persons -- Shaik Sadullah, Mohammed Imran and Mohammed Abdul Mobin — for allegedly providing training in weapon usage and terrorist activities to youth on the pretext of karate training. The Nizamabad police conducted raids on tip off and seized lethal weapons.
Based on the Nizamabad police, the MHA inquired into the matter and directed the NIA officials to register cases and investigate into the case.
