Hyderabad: The crime sleuths of Abdullapurmet Police arrested two motorcycle thieves and recovered nine stolen bikes worth Rs 10.40 lakh from their possession.
The accused identified as Bandari Shiva, 25, a bike mechanic and Macha Rupesh, 20, a labourer were arrested near Sampoorna hotel in Pedda Amberpet area on Tuesday, the police said
During interrogation, the accused confessed that they were addicted to luxurious lives and decided to commit bike thefts. “Shiva manages to break open the handle locks with the help of master keys who is helped by Rupesh and a juvenile,” LB Nagar DCP B. Sai Sri said.
The accused revealed of lifting two-wheelers from three different police stations under Rachakonda police commissionerate limits, the DCP said.
The accused along with the seized property were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody while the juvenile was sent to a juvenile home.
