Arrests by Hyderabad cops in theft case, detect missing case from Karimnagar
HYDERABAD: The Punjagutta police did two good turns on Friday. They nabbed a man, Shaik Khasif, for stealing bike and inadvertently reunited him with his family that he had abandoned in Karimnagar in 2019. Khasif was arrested with his associate Qureshi and a minor boy and police recovered nine stolen bikes from them.
Police said that after Khasif left his wife and two children and never returned home, his family lodged a missing complaint with the Karimnagar III Town police in 2021. He had left home after a quarrel with his wife.
On Friday, when police called his family to inform them about Khasif’s arrest, they were overjoyed that they had found him.
Police tracked down Khasif and his associates while investigating bike theft that was reported at Panjagutta on Thursday. Police found that Khasif was involved in five similar offences. He used to steal the bikes using a master key and took them to Qureshi for sale.
